Alec Peters had 16 points as Valparaiso led from start to finish to defeat University of Central Florida 85-70 Tuesday night.

Peters was one of five Crusaders in double figures as Jordan Coleman had 15, Bobby Capobianco totaled 14, LaVonte Dority had 12 and Lexus Williams contributed 10.

Valparaiso (4-3) started the game on a 20-7 run and had a 41-33 advantage at the half. UCF (3-2) could never get closer than five points. Valparaiso kept the pressure on by hitting 20 of 28 shots from inside the three-point line. The Crusaders hit 54.2 percent of all their shots from the field. The Knights made 24 of 59 field goal attempts.

Calvin Newell led the Knights with 16 points. Kasey Wilson contributed 15 and Tristan Spurlock added 10 points.
