Woodrum accounts for 4 total TDs as Liberty tops Charleston Southern 56-14 for share of title

Josh Woodrum threw three touchdown passes and rushed for another as Liberty topped Charleston Southern 56-14 to clinch a share of the Big South Conference title Saturday.

Woodrum's 13-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter gave the Flames (8-4, 4-1 Big South Conference) an early lead, and two second-quarter TD passes gave Liberty a 21-0 halftime advantage.

Charleston Southern (10-3, 3-2) opened the second half with a 4-yard touchdown run by Kyle Copeland, but the Flames responded with three third-quarter touchdowns.

Woodrum had 239 yards passing and Desmond Rice added two rushing touchdowns.

Copeland had a passing TD as well, but was hurt by three interceptions.

Both Liberty and Charleston Southern entered the game with a chance to claim a title share. Coastal Carolina already clinched a share of the title last week, finishing 4-1 in conference play and earns the automatic FCS playoff bid on a tiebreaker over Liberty.
