Maurice Aniefiok scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and North Texas came from behind to beat Nicholls State 92-78 Thursday night.

Trailing in the second half after coming back to take a 38-36 halftime lead, Keith Coleman tied the game at 60 with a layup. Jordan Williams then hit a 3-pointer, sparking a 22-8 run in the game's final five minutes for North Texas (3-1).

North Texas out-rebounded Nicholls State 44-26 and out-shot the Colonels 39-14 from the free-throw line. North Texas shot a season-high 48.9 percent, while the Colonels shot 43.1 percent.

Vertrail Vaughns scored 17 points for the Mean Green, Alzee Williams scored 16, including 12 free throws, and Jordan Williams added 14.

Dantrell Thomas led the Colonels (0-3) with 27 points and T.J. Carpenter added 17.

North Texas has beaten Nicholls State in their last four meetings, but the Colonels lead the series 9-8.
