Nikola Gajic made just one shot, a 3-pointer to give Stephen F. Austin the lead for good on their way to defeating Texas State and their old coach 64-57 Tuesday night.

Texas State (0-2) had just taken its second and last lead of the night on Joel Wright's layup before Gajic hit a triple to give Stephen F. Austin (2-0) a 40-38 lead with 12:12 remaining. The Lumberjacks went on to lead by as much as 10 in the second half.

Four starters scored in double figures for the Lumberjacks. Thomas Walkup led with his 50 percent shooting from the floor on his way to a team-high 14 points.

Wright was 6 of 17 for 20 points to lead the Bobcats.

Danny Kaspar is in his first year as head coach at Texas State after having coached SFA to 246 wins the previous 13 seasons.
