San Diego, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning said he will have an MRI on Monday after taking several rough hits in Sunday's win over the San Diego Chargers.

Manning came up limping after throwing a 9-yard pass to Demaryius Thomas late in the fourth quarter for a first down that helped the Broncos seal the 28-20 win.

Chargers defensive end Corey Liuget tackled him low around the legs on the play and Manning clutched at his right ankle. He called a timeout so he could walk it off and remain in the game.

"I'm pretty sore," Manning said. "I felt better coming into the game after the bye week."

Manning, who was reported last month to have two ankle sprains, said the MRI would be on his lower body.

He passed for 330 yards and four touchdowns for the Broncos (8-1), who won the first of what will likely be several games without John Fox after the coach's successful aortic heart valve replacement.

Denver defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio is serving as interim head coach and said it was nice to win the game for Fox.
