Piscataway, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - Rutgers forward Junior Etou was suspended six games for accepting impermissible benefits from a third party overseas, the school announced Friday.

Rutgers coach Eddie Jordan said the team was "thankful" to resolve the matter but didn't disclose what benefits Etou, who is from the Republic of the Congo, received.

"Junior is acclimating well to the university environment and working hard every day in practice. We look forward to having him on the floor," Jordan said in a statement.

Rutgers said it would have no further comment on the suspension.

Jordan made his Rutgers coaching debut in Friday night's season-opener against Florida A&M.
