Steelers view season as half-full, not half-empty as challenging second half looms

PITTSBURGH – Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger says his struggling team needs to stay focused on the little picture, not the big one.

The Steelers are 2-6 heading into Sunday's game against Buffalo (3-6). That's the franchise's worst mark at the season's midway point since 2006. Pittsburgh started 2-6 that year, though the circumstances were different. The team was coming off a Super Bowl win and Roethlisberger was injured in a motorcycle accident a month before training camp.

Pittsburgh rallied to finish 8-8 in 2006 in what turned out to be Bill Cowher's final season as coach. Roethlisberger stopped short of saying he believes the Steelers can do it again this year. He think it's important for the team to try to win just one game, not worry about winning six.
