Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Oakland Athletics have exercised the 2014 contract options for outfielder Coco Crisp and pitcher Brett Anderson.
Crisp batted .261 with a career-high 22 homers, 66 runs batted in and 21 stolen bases in 131 games this past season. He also set career bests with 93 runs scored and 61 walks.
The 34-year-old veteran has spent the past four seasons in Oakland after also playing for Cleveland, Boston and Kansas City in a 12-year career. He is a .272 hitter in 1,294 career games.
Anderson was Oakland's opening day starter this past season, but spent four months on the disabled list with a stress fracture in his foot and finished the campaign in the bullpen. He was 1-4 with a 6.04 ERA in 16 games, including five starts, in 2013.
The 25-year-old lefty has spent his entire five-year career with the Athletics and has a mark of 26-29 with a 3.81 ERA in 84 games, 73 of which have been starts.
Oakland also declined contract options on catcher Kurt Suzuki and outfielder Chris Young.
Suzuki rejoined the Athletics in an August trade with Washington and batted .303 with two homers in 15 games for Oakland. The 30-year-old veteran spent his first five-plus seasons with the Athletics before being dealt to the Nationals in August 2012.
Young hit .200 with 12 homers and 40 RBI in 107 games for Oakland this past season. He was acquired from Arizona last October in a deal that sent Cliff Pennington and Yordy Cabrera to the Diamondbacks.
