Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - PGA TOUR - CIMB CLASSIC, Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia -- The PGA Tour heads to Asia for the next two weeks and first up is the CIMB Classic.
Nick Watney fired a 10-under 61 in the final round last year to roar from behind and win the title by one stroke over Robert Garrigus and 2011 winner Bo Van Pelt.
Watney will headline the field at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club a year after the event was contested at The Mines Resort and Golf Club. The win was Watney's second of the 2012 season following his title at The Barclays.
Along with Watney, world No. 3 Phil Mickelson will make his first appearance at the event. The field will consist of 78 players, 13 of whom made it to The Tour Championship last month.
Mickelson is also one of five players from the Presidents Cup that will be competing. The others are Americans Keegan Bradley and Bill Haas along with Canadian Graham DeLaet and South African Ernie Els.
The purse was increased by $900,000, while the field moved from 48 to 78 players.
Golf Channel will have late night coverage all four nights.
The PGA Tour moves to China next week for the WGC - HSBC Champions, where Ian Poulter closed with back-to-back 65s to beat Mickelson, Els and two others by two strokes. In that final round, Watney again went deep as he fired a 62.
EUROPEAN TOUR
BMW MASTERS, Lake Malaren Golf Club, Shanghai, China -- The European Tour kicks off its four-event run that concludes with the season-ending DP World Tour Championship, Dubai.
Peter Hanson will defend his title this week at the BMW Masters against a 78- player field. The top 60 from the world rankings are eligible, there are 14 players from the Chinese Golf Association, three tournament invites and the field will be filled out by players from the Race to Dubai standings.
Hanson closed with a 67 last year to beat Rory McIlroy by one shot. The title was Hanson's sixth on the European Tour. The field also included 10 of the victorious European Ryder Cup players, nine of whom finished in the top 15 on the final leaderboard.
Henrik Stenson tops the Race to Dubai standings entering the final four events. He'll try to become the first to win the PGA Tour's FedExCup and the European Tour's Race to Dubai in the same year.
Among those chasing Stenson that are in the field this week are Rory McIlroy, Luke Donald, Graeme McDowell, Lee Westwood, Ian Poulter, Louis Oosthuizen and Martin Kaymer.
Golf Channel will have tape-delayed television coverage of all four rounds.
The European Tour will join the PGA Tour at the WGC - HSBC Champions in Shanghai next week. Ian Poulter will defend his title at that event.
LPGA TOUR
SUNRISE LPGA TAIWAN CHAMPIONSHIP, Sunrise Golf & Country Club, Yang Mei, Taiwan - The LPGA Tour continues its Asian swing this week with the Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship.
For the second week in a row, Suzann Pettersen was the victor at this event last year. She fired four rounds in the 60s en route to beating Inbee Park by three strokes. Park led by two entering the final round, but stumbled to a 2- over 74 to lose the title.
Pettersen had won a playoff the previous week before rallying to win this title. She has won three more crowns this year, including her second major, the Evian Championship.
There is another small field this week and it includes only nine of the top 20 players from the latest world rankings.

The LPGA Tour is off next week before wrapping up its Asian swing with the Mizuno Classic, where Stacy Lewis fired a 64 in the final round to rally for a 1-stroke win over Bo-Mee Lee.
CHAMPIONS TOUR
AT&T CHAMPIONSHIP, TPC San Antonio (ATT Canyons) San Antonio, Texas - The Champions Tour returns to Texas for the second time this year for the AT&T Championship.
Mark Calcavecchia owned a 6-stroke lead entering the final round last year, but closed with a 2-over 74 to fall two strokes out of the playoff.
David Frost and Bernhard Langer both fired 6-under 66s in the last round to end at minus-8. Frost birdied the second playoff hole to beat Langer and win for the third time on the Champions Tour.
Frost has won two more titles this year, and stands third in the Charles Schwab Cup points list. He trails Kenny Perry and Langer on that list.

The Champions Tours heads to California next week for the season-ending Charles Schwab Cup Championship. Tom Lehman won that event last year by six strokes and became the first player to ever win the season-long Charles Schwab Cup points race in back-to-back years.
