Granada, Spain (SportsNetwork.com) - Getafe moved into fifth place in La Liga on Sunday after the club claimed its fourth successive victory in a 2-0 defeat at 10-man Granada.

The hosts were reduced to 10 men after 31 minutes when Pape Diakhate received his second yellow card of the contest for a foul on Getafe's Fernandez Borja.

Granada was able to see out the rest of the first half without damage, but an own goal from Murillo in the opening minutes of the second half doomed the home side.

It came from innocent low cross that the defender attempted to clear, only for the ball to be sliced into his own net.

Getafe sealed the win eight minutes later with a quality strike from Pedro Leon after he fired a well-placed shot past goalkeeper Roberto from Sarabia's pass.

Rayo Vallecano 1, Almeria 0

Almeria, Spain - Rayo Vallecano moved out of the relegation zone on Sunday thanks to a 78th-minute free kick from Alejandro Galvez to give the team a 1-0 win at last-place Almeria.

The goal came 15 minutes after Rayo had been reduced to 10 men as defender Saul Niguez picked up his second booking for shoving Almeria's Suso.

Both goalkeepers were kept busy in the match despite the lack of goals and Almeria's Suarez Esteban did well to keep his team in the game when he pushed a shot from Iago Falque onto the post early in the second half.

But the difference came 12 minutes from time when Galvez curled a 20-yard free kick into the top corner of the net for Rayo's second successive win.

Elche 2, Real Betis 1

Seville, Spain - Elche collected its third successive victory in La Liga on Sunday by holding off Real Betis, 2-1, to move into the top half of the league.

Manu del Moral put Elche in front with a header after 29 minutes, and his goal was followed by another from Fidel Chaves four minutes later to double the advantage for the visitors as Chaves fired home a laid off pass from Coro.

Jorge Molina's header from Salva Sevilla's free kick pulled a goal back for Betis before halftime, while Elche was down to 10 men early in the second half due to a second yellow card for Dominga Cisma.

However, Betis was unable to manage an equalizer thanks in large part to the play of Elche goalkeeper Manu Herrera.

Valladolid 2, Sevilla 2

Valladolid, Spain - Valladolid scored two goals in the final 10 minutes to notch a 2-2 draw with Sevilla on Sunday.

Carlos Bacca scored inside of two minutes for Sevilla and Alberto Moreno made it 2-0 in the 31st when he found the bottom corner of the net following Cala's corner kick.
