New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton, Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Tamba Hali and San Diego Chargers kicker Nick Novak have been selected as the AFC's top players for Week 6 of the NFL season.
Dalton earned the offensive award after throwing for 337 yards with three touchdowns and one interception in Cincinnati's 27-24 overtime win against Buffalo. He completed each of his four passes in overtime and earned his second career weekly award.
Defensive honors went to Hali, who recorded four tackles and a career-high 3 1/2 sacks in Kansas City's 24-7 win over Oakland. He led a Chiefs defense that registered 10 sacks and was selected for a weekly award for the second time in his career.
Novak picked up the special teams award for the first time after connecting on four field goals in San Diego's 19-9 win over Indianapolis. His 50-yard kick sealed the victory late in the fourth quarter.
Others considered for the offensive award were New England quarterback Tom Brady, who orchestrated a game-winning drive in the final minute and threw for 269 yards with a touchdown against previously unbeaten New Orleans; Kansas City running back Jamaal Charles, who totaled 128 yards from scrimmage with two rushing touchdowns against the Raiders; and San Diego receiver Keenan Allen, who nine catches for 107 yards with a touchdown against the Colts.
Defensive consideration went to Jets linebacker David Harris, who had 10 tackles and a sack in a 19-6 loss to Pittsburgh; and Jacksonville linebacker Paul Posluszny, who had seven tackles with a 59-yard interception return for a touchdown in a 35-19 loss to Denver.
Pittsburgh kicker Shaun Suisham was nominated for the special teams award after booting four field goals in the victory over the Jets.
