Habs' trip continues in Vancouver

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Montreal Canadiens continue a four-game road trip on Saturday night as they visit the Vancouver Canucks.

The Canadiens have split their first four games of the campaign and began their swing with a one-goal loss to Calgary on Wednesday. They visited the Edmonton Oilers the following night and emerged with a 4-1 victory.

Brendan Gallagher and Alex Galchenyuk each had a goal and an assist, while Brandon Prust and Max Pacioretty added goals. P.K. Subban notched three assists.

Peter Budaj stopped 27 shots to get the win in his first start of the season over Carey Price.

"After the tough loss yesterday to Calgary, we had back-to-back nights and we played very well," said Budaj. "We were first on the pucks, skated well and doing the little things right."

The Canucks will try to bounce back from a 4-1 loss to the San Jose Sharks on Thursday. They got a second-period goal from Mike Santorelli, his fourth in three games, but the Sharks answered less than two minutes later.

"We certainly didn't have enough players going to make a difference," noted Vancouver coach John Tortorella.

Roberto Luongo made 25 saves for the Canucks, whose only two losses this season have come to the Sharks. In between they have beaten Edmonton, Calgary and New Jersey.

"The first period we were a little tentative. Against a team like that you've got to play 60 minutes if you want to give yourself a chance," Luongo said.

Santorelli has been giving the Canucks a chance as he has scored in three straight games, including back-to-back overtime winners against the Flames and Devils.

The Canucks conclude a three-game homestand tonight before hitting the road for seven in a row.

Price, a native of British Columbia, is likely to get the start for the Habs and is 3-1-1 with a 2.56 goals against average and .924 save percentage in six meetings with the Canucks.

Montreal is 4-0-1 in its last five versus the Canucks and has won two straight in Vancouver since an eight-game slide as the guest in this series.

Luongo is 2-5-0 with a 2.58 GAA in his last seven meetings with the Canadiens.
