The Chicago Bears fear middle linebacker D.J. Williams could miss the remainder of the season because of a chest injury.

Coach Marc Trestman says "there's certainly a chance" Williams has a torn pectoral muscle, which would sideline him for the rest of the year. But he adds the Bears "don't know that right now." Trestman says they're "in the process of continuing to gather more information."

He was not sure how the injury occurred. Williams, signed in the offseason to help replace Brian Urlacher, left in the third quarter of Thursday's win over the New York Giants, the latest injury for a defense that's had its share. The Bears visit Washington next week, and if Williams isn't available, the Bears would likely go with Jonathan Bostic.
