Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed forward Chuck Kobasew to a one-year contract worth $550,000.

Kobasew attended the Penguins' camp on a professional tryout contract and notched a pair of goals in five games during the preseason.

The 31-year-old British Columbia native has 108 goals and 100 assists for 208 points in 568 career regular-season games over 10 years with Calgary, Boston, Minnesota and Colorado. He spent the past two seasons with the Avalanche.

Kobasew was selected by the Flames with the 14th overall pick of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft and was a member of Calgary's Stanley Cup runner-up squad in the spring of 2004.
