Goran Pandev scored twice in the span of 11 minutes to lift Napoli into first place in Serie A with a 2-0 victory at Genoa on Saturday.

Pandev opened the scoring in the 14th minute of Saturday's affair, capitalizing on Jurai Kucka's misplaced pass to beat Mattia Perin from the edge of the penalty area.

The Macedonia international then doubled Napoli's advantage in the 25th minute by collecting Lorenzo Insigne's clever pass and firing home the dagger from 20 yards out.

Napoli climbs to 16 points to put the club in first place, though Roma can reclaim top spot with a victory over Bologna on Sunday.

Genoa has lost two straight Serie A contests to remain on four points.

AC Milan 1, Sampdoria 0

Milan, Italy - AC Milan put an end to a three-game winless run on Saturday thanks to a 1-0 defeat of Sampdoria at the San Siro.

Valter Birsa provided the lone goal of the affair, striking in the first minute of the second half to hand Milan its first league win since Sept. 1.

Milan improves to eight points on the season, six points better than Sampdoria.
