WR Nate Burleson back at Lions HQ after having surgery on broken arm from 1-car accident

Published January 13, 2015

Associated Press

Detroit Lions wide receiver Nate Burleson says a bad habit almost killed him.

Burleson told reporters Friday his penchant for multitasking while driving caused a one-car accident that broke his left arm.

Burleson says he was plugging in his phone and was preventing pizza boxes from sliding off the front passenger's seat when he lost control of his car. He hit a center median wall on a highway in suburban Detroit early Tuesday and had surgery the next day.

Burleson says he'll "for sure" play again this season, adding it will be sooner rather than later.

The Lions will definitely be without their No. 2 receiver on Sunday at home against the Chicago Bears.
