Colorado Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon has been named the National League Player of the Week for the period ending Sept. 22.

Blackmon led the majors with 18 hits while batting .500 in seven games. He hit five doubles and knocked in five runs.

Cincinnati's Jay Bruce, St. Louis' Matt Holliday, Philadelphia's Chase Utley and Arizona's Paul Goldschmidt were also considered for the award.
