Stony Brook has lost running back Marcus Coker and Reuben Johnson to season-ending injuries.

Seawolves coach Chuck Priore said Saturday that Coker has an abdominal injury and Johnson hurt his left knee against Buffalo last weekend.

"Obviously, we're going to miss Marcus and Reuben," Priore said of the two senior starters. "Both of them had gotten off to great starts in our first season of CAA competition, but I look forward to working with them next season."

Coker, who played at the University of Iowa before transferring to Stony Brook in early 2012, is expected to receive a medical hardship to return next season.

Johnson, a former University of Cincinnati playr, was in his fourth season of competition, so Stony Brook will make an appeal to the NCAA for a sixth year of competition.

Stony Brook is ranked 16th in The Sports Network FCS Top 25.
