Sam Hornish Jr. claimed the pole for Saturday night's Kentucky 300 Nationwide Series race after topping the charts in qualifying at Kentucky Speedway.

Hornish, the current points leader, turned a lap at 179.235 mph for his third pole of the season and the fourth of his Nationwide career. The Penske Racing driver enters this race with a 17-point advantage over Austin Dillon, who qualified third. Dillon had won the pole for the last three events in the series at Kentucky. He's also the defending race winner.

Ryan Blaney, who is driving the No. 22 car for Penske in this race, earned the outside pole with a lap at 178.159 mph. Brad Keselowski drove the No. 22 to victory at this 1.5-mile racetrack in June.

Brian Scott took the fourth spot, followed by Matt Crafton and Joey Coulter. Drew Herring, Travis Pastrana, Justin Allgaier and Brian Vickers completed the top-10.
