Second-seeded Frenchman Gilles Simon secured a spot in Saturday's semifinals at the $545,000 Moselle Open tennis event.

The 2010 Metz champion got past sixth-seeded American Sam Querrey 6-4, 7-6 (7-1) on the indoor hardcourts at Parc des Expositions.

The 16th-ranked former top-10 star Simon's final-four opponent will be fellow Frenchman Nicolas Mahut, who handled German Benjamin Becker 6-2, 6-4 in Friday's quarterfinal action. Mahut already owns a pair of titles on the ATP World Tour this season.

The 2013 Metz champion will collect $98,000.
