Saints sign Carr, place Robinson on IR

Metairie, LA – The New Orleans Saints have re-signed cornerback Chris Carr on Wednesday after placing corner Patrick Robinson on injured reserve.

Robinson suffered a leg injury during Sunday's win against Tampa Bay. He was carted off the field and did not return to the game.

Carr, who was among the final round of training camp cuts, will help provide depth to a thin Saints secondary. The veteran played corner and was a punt and kick returner in 214 career games with Oakland, Tennessee, Baltimore, and San Diego.

The team also announced the signing of wide receiver Andy Tanner to the practice squad and the release of fullback Austin Johnson.
