Croatia knocked out Greece from the European basketball championship Monday with a 92-88 victory in double overtime.

That result meant that two-time defending champion Spain clinched the last available quarterfinal spot from that group before its game against Italy.

Bojan Bogdanovic made two free throws with 18 seconds left to secure Croatia's victory in a tight game, with neither team leading by more than seven.

Greece needed to beat Croatia and hope for Italy to defeat Spain and a Slovenia win over Finland to have any chance of advancing to the quarterfinals. Instead, Croatia, which had already advanced, made sure of winning Group F.

Bogdanovic led all scorers with 22 points.
