Noh cruises to win at Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship

Columbus, OH – Seung-Yul Noh carded a 2-under 69 on Sunday to cruise to a 5-stroke win at the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship, the third event of the Web.com Tour Finals.

Noh, who earned his first career win on the Web.com Tour, finished the tournament at 12-under-par 272. With the victory, Noh moved into the top spot on the playoff money list, which assured him of retaining his PGA Tour card for next season with just one event left on the Web.com Tour schedule.

"I wasn't nervous today and felt very comfortable," Noh said.

The top 25 from the regular season tour money list already have their PGA Tour cards for next season, but are still playing for priority ranking. The next available 25 from the finals series money list will also earn their PGA Tour cards for next season.

Noh finished 160th on the PGA Tour's FedExCup standings this season, causing him to have to play in these playoffs to regain his card for next season.

Edward Loar fired a 6-under 65 in his final round at Ohio State University Golf Club's Scarlet Course to jump into sole possession of second place at 7- under 277.

John Peterson (66) captured third at 6-under, while Ben Martin (67), Chesson Hadley (71) and Tyrone Van Aswegen (73) shared fourth at 5-under.

Noh entered the final round with a 3-stroke lead over Jim Herman, but Noh tripped to an early bogey at the third to fall to 9-under and cut his advantage to two.

Herman then birdied the fourth to pull within a shot of the lead, but he would get no closer thanks to a 2-stroke swing at the fifth, where Noh rolled in a birdie and Herman bogeyed.

Noh would add gains at the sixth and seventh to move to 12-under, opening up a 3-stroke lead over Van Aswegen, who birdied the fourth and sixth to grab second at minus-9.

Noh was not pressured for the remainder of the day, with his lead stretching as high as six strokes before he countered a birdie at the 12th with a bogey at the 14th to cruise to the big win.

"The birdie on No. 5 was the turning point," said Noh. "I hit a 5-iron to about four feet and then on No. 6, I made about a 35-40-footer for another birdie."

NOTES: Noh's 5-stroke victory was the largest in tournament history, surpassing the previous mark of two strokes by Daniel Summerhays in the inaugural tournament in 2007 ... Peterson moved to fifth in the playoff money list and also secured a PGA Tour card for next season ... The money leader at the end of the four Web.com Tour's playoff events will earn fully exempt status on the PGA Tour and earn a spot in The Players Championship ... The playoffs conclude in two weeks with the Tour Championship at TPC Craig Ranch.
