Rainey started in place of an injured Doug Martin and ran 22 times for 144 yards. Zuerlein went 4-for-4 on field goals for the Rams (1-1), who bounced back after getting blown out in Week 1 by the Vikings.

Alex Smith did all he could to keep the injury-riddled Kansas City defense off the field in the second half, but Manning tossed three touchdown passes in the first 30 minutes and Denver held off the Chiefs, 24-17, on Sunday afternoon. Defensive tackle Terrance Knighton tipped Smith's 4th-and-goal pass to ensure the victory with 15 seconds left. The Chiefs, who held a 43-15 advantage in plays run and held the ball for 20:54 in the second half, regained possession at their own 34-yard line with 3:20 remaining after Brandon McManus booted a 20-yard field goal to give Denver a 24-17 advantage. Kansas City was aided by a trio of penalties on the drive, the first one an offsides call that negated an Aqib Talib 41-yard interception return for a touchdown on a 3rd-and-5. Smith hit Travis Kelce for 20 yards on an ensuing 3rd-and-9 and the Chiefs' luck continued when it appeared that DeMarcus Ware strip-sacked Smith from behind two plays later. Nate Irving recovered the fumble, but it was ruled that Smith's arm was moving forward following a review and KC kept the ball. San Francisco opened up a 17-0 second-quarter lead, but Chicago (1-1) outscored the 49ers (1-1) 28-3 from the one-minute mark of that second frame on to win its first game in San Francisco since 1985. The Bears had dropped eight in a row in San Francisco by an average margin of 34-6 prior to Sunday's tilt. The 49ers regained possession with 6:55 remaining following Marshall's 3-yard TD catch, which staked Chicago to a 28-20 lead. Colin Kaepernick scrambled for 15 yards on a 3rd-and-3 and later moved the chains on a 4th-and-6 when he hit Michael Crabtree for a gain of nine yards. A delay of game penalty further in the drive set up a 3rd-and-17 at the Chicago 25. Baltimore, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - The Baltimore Ravens channeled their emotions during a turbulent week off the field into a dominant one on it, as they crushed the rival Pittsburgh Steelers, 26-6, on Thursday night. Joe Flacco threw a pair of touchdown passes to Owen Daniels, Justin Tucker kicked four field goals and Baltimore forced three turnovers in putting the focus back on football if but for a few hours. The Ray Rice controversy will continue to dominate the headlines in the coming weeks, both in the way the situation was handled by the league and Rice's playing future, but the Ravens (1-1) did not appear fazed by the frenzy. Flacco played mistake-free and threw 71 of his 166 yards to Steve Smith, Sr., while Bernard Pierce and Justin Forsett combined for 152 rushing yards to help Baltimore rebound from a season-opening loss to the Bengals. Pittsburgh (1-1) recorded seven first downs in the second half -- four coming in its final drive with the outcome already decided. Ben Roethlisberger completed just 22-of-37 passes for 217 yards with an interception and was held without a touchdown pass for the first time since the final game of the 2011 season.
