Quintin Mikell, who was signed to the roster Monday, will start at strong safety for the Carolina Panthers on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks after Mike Mitchell (calf) was declared inactive.

Mikell started the last two seasons for St. Louis.

Also inactive for the Panthers are wide receiver Domenik Hixon (hamstring), guard Amini Silatolu (hamstring), running back Kenjon Barner (foot), cornerback James Dockery (hand), center Brian Folkerts and defensive end Wes Horton.

The Seahawks ruled out defensive end Chris Clemons (knee) and defensive tackle Jordan Hill (biceps) earlier in the week. Also inactive for visiting Seattle are defensive end Cliff Avril (hamstring), linebacker John Lotulelei, cornerback Brandon Browner and tackles Michael Bowie and Alvin Bailey.

Red Bryant and O'Brien Schofield will start at the defensive end positions for the Seahawks.
