The Tennessee Titans' season is already in reverse.

The Titans gifted the Pittsburgh Steelers a safety on the opening play of the 2013 season when kick returner Darius Reynaud took a knee in the end zone on the opening kickoff.

Reynaud fielded a squib kick from Pittsburgh's Shaun Suisham at the goal line and took a short step back into the end zone for what appeared to be a touchback. Officials stopped play and spotted the ball at the Tennessee 20 before referee Jerome Boger ruled Reynaud fielded the ball in play before taking a knee in the end zone. It was upheld on review and the Steelers had an early 2-0 lead.

Jacksonville also opened its season with a safety Sunday, blocking a Kansas City punt.
