New York Yankees third-baseman Alex Rodriguez's arbitration hearing to appeal his 211-game suspension has been scheduled to begin on Sept. 30, FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal confirms.

Newsday was the first to report a set date for the beginning of the hearing process.

The Yankees finish the regular season on Sept. 29 against the Astros in Houston, but Rodriguez's hearing may be postponed if the Yankees qualify for postseason play.

Rodriguez was suspended on Aug. 5 for his relationship to Biogenesis of America, a Florida anti-aging clinic accused of distributing banned performance-enhancing drugs.

On Aug. 7, the Major League Baseball Players Association formally appealed Alex Rodriguez's 211-game suspension, sending the case to an independent arbitrator, allowing Rodriguez to rejoin the Yankees' lineup.
