Baltimore, MD – The Baltimore Orioles activated pitcher Jason Hammel off the 15-day disabled list Thursday.
Hammel has been sidelined since July 29 with a right flexor mass strain. The right-hander is just 7-8 with a 5.20 earned run average in 21 starts for Baltimore this season. He hasn't won since May 27.
The Orioles also recalled right-handed pitcher Steve Johnson from Triple-A Norfolk and optioned left-hander Zach Britton to short-season Class-A Aberdeen.
