The Cincinnati Reds selected the contract of outfielder Billy Hamilton from Triple-A Louisville on Monday.

The club also activated catcher Corky Miller from the 15-day disabled list, he had been sidelined with a right quad contusion, and recalled infielder Neftali Soto from Louisville.

Hamilton is the Reds' No. 1 prospect as ranked by MLB.com. He set a professional record with 155 stolen bases over 132 combined games in Single-A and Double-A last year.

The 22-year-old batted .256 in 123 games for Louisville this season, and he was leading the International League with 75 steals at the time of his promotion.

Pitcher Pedro Villarreal was designated for assignment to make room on the 40- man roster for Hamilton.
