Martin Truex Jr. fractured his right wrist at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday night.

Michael Waltrip Racing announced that "an MRI on Monday confirmed a scaphoid fracture and sprain" due to an injury the driver of the No. 56 Toyota sustained during a multi-car crash on Lap 448.

Truex, who is currently 14th in the point standings and in line for a wild card spot in the Chase due to his win at Sonoma in June, will be able to compete for the remainder of the season.

He was fitted with a cast on Tuesday that will offer him better mobility to grip the steering wheel.

MWR has yet to determined whether Truex will have a back-up driver standing by for this weekend's race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Truex has two career Sprint Cup wins and has qualified for the Chase twice in his eight full Cup seasons. Before graduating to Cup, Truex won the Nationwide Series title in 2004 and 2005.
