Santa Clara, CA – As expected, the San Francisco 49ers announced that wide receivers Mario Manningham and Michael Crabtree were placed on the reserve/physically unable to perform list.
The club made those moves official on Tuesday, in order to comply with the league-mandated 75-man roster.
Manningham, who is rehabbing a knee injury that he suffered in a loss in Seattle late last year, will not be eligible to play in the team's first six games of the regular season. He caught 42 passes for 449 yards and one touchdown in his first season with the 49ers after spending the first four years of his career with the New York Giants.
Crabtree, who sustained an Achilles injury in offseason workouts, will also be sidelined for the early part of the schedule. The Texas Tech product caught 85 passes for 1,105 yards and nine touchdowns in 16 games last season.
In addition, the Niners placed defensive tackles Tank Carradine and Quinton Dial, running back Marcus Lattimore, tackle Luke Marquardt and cornerback Eric Wright on the reserve/non-football injury list; placed cornerback Chris Culliver on injured reserve and placed defensive tackles Lamar Divens and Lawrence Okoye on the waived/injured list.
Culliver, a South Carolina product, participated in all 32 games over the last two seasons for San Francisco, totaling 82 tackles and three interceptions.
Lattimore, also a Gamecock, is still trying to come back from a gruesome knee injury suffered against Tennessee last October.
