The Indianapolis Colts got down to the league's 75-man roster limit by putting receiver Nathan Palmer on waivers, linebacker Josh McNary on an exemption list and rookie safety John Boyett on the non-football injury list.

Palmer was expected to miss four to six weeks with a sprained MCL and will go on injured reserve if he clears waivers.

McNary was placed on the reserve-military list, giving the Colts a temporary roster exemption. The list is for military players who report after June 1 and do not play in preseason games. McNary spent the past two years fulfilling his service commitment after graduating from West Point.

Boyett is recovering from injuries to both knees that limited him to just one game at Oregon last season.
