It's not just that lots of Alabamans are naming their kids "Crimson" -- it's that enough of those people are spelling it "Krimson" or "Krymson" that when AL.com was investigating this phenomenon, they included those two spellings in their search.

The results were that in 2012, 63 percent of American baby girls named Krymson were born in Alabama, 56 percent of national Krimsons were born in Alabama and 42 percent of America's Crimsons are Alabamans, too. Among baby boys, Alabama's Crimsons made up 28 percent of the total. Alabama's population of 4.8 million accounts for approximately 1.5 percent of the total U.S. population.

The implications here are obvious. People get very "inspired" when the see this man.
