Santa Clara, CA – The San Francisco 49ers signed quarterback Seneca Wallace to a one-year deal on Thursday.
Wallace was originally selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth round (110th overall selection) of the 2003 NFL Draft. In nine seasons, he has played in 62 games with 21 starts. He has completed 452-of-764 passes for 4,808 yards and 31 touchdowns and 18 interceptions. He has also rushed 68 times for 293 yards and one touchdown, while adding six receptions for 106 yards.
Wallace spent seven seasons with the Seahawks before being traded to the Cleveland Browns during the 2010 offseason. He went on to spend two seasons with the Browns before being released just prior to the 2012 regular season. Wallace was signed by the New Orleans Saints on April 15, 2013, and later released on August 19.
To make room for Wallace on the roster, the team waived wide receiver Ricardo Lockette.
