The Montreal Canadiens agreed to a one-year contract with defenseman Douglas Murray on Thursday.

No financial terms were disclosed, but multiple outlets indicate the deal is worth $1.5 million.

Last season, the 6-foot-3, 245-pound Swede played with both the San Jose Sharks and Pittsburgh, registering one goal and five assists in 43 games. The burly blueliner was shipped from the Bay Area to the Steel City on March 25 for a second-round draft pick in 2013 and a conditional pick in 2014.

He also played 15 playoff games for the Penguins, amassing two goals and one assist.

In eight NHL seasons, Murray has played in 465 games and registered seven goals, 55 assists and 370 penalty minutes.
