Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Trevor Cahill has been activated off the 15-day disabled list after recovering from a hip contusion.

Cahill last pitched June 30 against Atlanta and went on the DL a day later. He made two starts after initially injuring his hip during a June 19 outing against Miami when he was hit with a line drive off the bat of the Marlins' Marcell Ozuna.

The right-hander has struggled to a 3-10 mark with a 4.66 ERA in 17 starts entering Saturday's contest against Pittsburgh. He went 0-6 in eight starts before the trip to the disabled list and last won on May 17 against Miami.

Arizona opened a roster spot by sending pitcher Chaz Roe to Triple-A Reno. Roe worked one-third of an inning in Friday's 6-2 loss to the Pirates and is 1-0 with a 5.40 ERA in five appearances for the Diamondbacks this season.
