Minnesota Vikings fullback Jerome Felton underwent an emergency appendectomy Wednesday

According to the Star-Tribune, he will likely miss the rest of the preseason.

Felton attended the team's morning walkthrough but was absent from the afternoon practice, as he was rushed to the Twin Cities for surgery.

The operation was a success and he should recover in about two weeks. However, he is expected, along with other significant starters, to not play in the preseason finale against Tennessee on August 29.

Felton, in his first season with the Vikings last season, earned a Pro Bowl invitation as he was used as Adrian Peterson's lead blocker. Peterson rushed for 2,097 yards and won the MVP award.
