If the Americans are looking for a go-to player at the Solheim Cup this week, they might look to Morgan Pressel.

The 25-year-old from Boca Raton, Fla., has a 7-2-2 career record at the event, which pits America's best against the best from Europe.

In 2011, Pressel went 4-0.

Play starts Friday at Colorado Golf Club, which is just a quick trip down the highway from the course where Pressel introduced herself to America.

Eight years ago, as a 17-year-old amateur, Pressel was tied for the lead in the U.S. Open heading to the 18th hole when Birdie Kim chipped in for birdie from the sand to steal the victory at Cherry Hills.

Pressel says that heartbreak is nothing but a distant memory now. "There's luck with everything," she says.
