The Cincinnati Reds have reinstated outfielder Ryan Ludwick from the 60-day disabled list on Monday.

Ludwick has been out of Cincinnati's lineup since suffering a torn labrum in his right shoulder during the season opener on April 1. He injured himself while sliding head-first into third base in the third inning and underwent surgery two days later.

The 35-year-old will bat sixth and play left field in Monday's game against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field.

Ludwick was re-signed to a two-year contract last winter after batting .275 with 26 home runs and 80 RBI for the Reds, who won last year's National League Central title.

Ludwick made 13 rehab appearances, playing his last 10 for Triple-A Louisville. He finished his assignment with a four-game hitting streak.

Outfielder Derrick Robinson was sent down to Louisville to make room for Ludwick.
