Crystal Palace have signed forward Marouane Chamakh from Arsenal on a new one-year contract, the club announced on Monday.

Chamakh, 29, arrived at the Emirates in June 2010 but failed to hold a first- team place, and thus was allowed to join the Gunners' London rivals.

"Crystal Palace are delighted to confirm the signing of Morocco international striker Marouane Chamakh on a one-year deal," a statement read on Palace's official website.

Chamakh has scored 17 goals in 63 appearances for his country, and spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham, where he made three appearances.

Chamakh becomes the third striker to join the Eagles this summer, along with Kevin Phillips and Dwight Gayle.
