Big Ten's top receiver Allen Robinson draws attention on Penn State offense

Published January 13, 2015

The Big Ten's top receiver could be taking a more vocal role this year at Penn State.

Allen Robinson is stepping up with the Nittany Lions breaking in a new starting quarterback. Coach Bill O'Brien has to decide between redshirt sophomore Tyler Ferguson and freshman Christian Hackenberg.

Robinson led the Big Ten last year with 1,013 yards receiving and 11 touchdown catches. He says that while he's more of a lead-by-example guy, he's starting to make his voice heard more in training camp to make sure the offense clicks.

Penn State also has plenty of options at tight end in the passing game between Kyle Carter, Matt Lehman and Jesse James. They could also be joined by touted freshman Adam Breneman.

The season begins Aug. 31 against Syracuse.
