Detroit Tigers third baseman Miguel Cabrera was held out of the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Chicago White Sox due to a sore left hip flexor muscle.

Cabrera exited with one out in the bottom of the fifth inning of Monday's game against the White Sox.

The reigning American League MVP is leading the AL with 76 runs scored, 134 hits, 63 walks, a .358 batting average and .454 on-base percentage, while he is second with 31 home runs, 96 RBI and a .666 slugging percentage this season.

Last year, Cabrera became the first triple crown winner in the majors since 1967.
