Detroit Tigers third baseman Miguel Cabrera departed Monday's game against the Chicago White Sox due to a sore left hip flexor muscle.

Cabrera exited with one out in the bottom of the fifth inning. He was replaced by Don Kelly and is listed as day-to-day.

In three plate appearances, Cabrera walked twice and grounded out. He scored on Victor Martinez's two-run single in the fifth inning and appeared to slow up on his way to home plate.

Cabrera came into the game leading the AL in batting average, on-base percentage, OPS, runs scored and RBI. He is batting .358 this season with 31 homers and 96 runs batted in.

Last year, he became the first triple crown winner in the majors since 1967.
