Cincinnati, OH – The Cincinnati Reds recalled infielder Neftali Soto from Triple-A Louisville Friday.
The 24-year-old Soto is joining the Reds for the second time this season. He made his major league debut on May 18 and failed to record a hit in his only at bat on May 19.
Soto hit .278 and 11 home runs in 84 games with Louisville.
Soto fills the roster spot vacated by pitcher Tony Cingrani, who was optioned to the rookie-league Arizona League Reds Wednesday.
