The Philadelphia Phillies announced that outfielder Ben Revere underwent surgery Tuesday to repair a broken right foot.

As expected, recovery time will be 6-to-8 weeks.

Revere was hurt during the 11th inning in the opener of Saturday's doubleheader against the Chicago White Sox when he fouled a pitch off the inside of his right foot.

The 25-year-old speedster is batting .305 with 22 stolen bases in 88 games this season, his first with Philadelphia.
