Irving, TX – One night after setting a record for the longest winning streak in major U.S. pro sports history, the Washington Kastles finally lost.
The World Team Tennis squad suffered a 23-18 defeat to the Texas Wild Wednesday night. That ended the Kastles' amazing run of 34 consecutive wins.
That passed the 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers team that won 33 straight NBA games.
It's the first time Washington has lost a match since July 22, 2010.
The match was clinched for the Wild when Eugenie Bouchard outlasted Anastasia Rodionova.
