UFC Champ Ronda Rousey To Fight Rival Miesha Tate Again

Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate will soon meet again.

The first female winner of the Ultimate Fighting Championship will face Tate on Dec. 28 in the pair’s second match up.

Rousey handily defeated Tate in their first meeting when she won by first-round submission after dislocating Tate’s elbow.

With a mutual dislike between the two, Tate has admitted that Rousey took her out of her fight plan by trash talking before the bout.

But that doesn’t mean Rousey thinks their next meeting will be an “easy” victory.

“My mom always says no one is easy until after you beat them, but even though I’ve beat Miesha, I think the fight will be extremely difficult,” Rousey told the Los Angeles Times. “Last time, she came at me, out of control. That’s why I didn’t have a problem with her.”

While Rousey said she doesn’t “rely on mind games to win,” she did say they help.

“It’s like a swimmer shaving off their arm hairs,” she said.

The feud between the two has been on-going and hit a new high when Rousey posed nude for  ESPN Magazine’s Body Issue last year.

At the time, Tate wrote on her Twitter account: “Any1 else think it's hypocritical 4 Ronda Rousey 2 talk crap about ring girls in playboy but it's totally fine 2 pose ‘artistically nude’?”

In a statement, Tate clarified why she was “so tired of Ronda criticizing everyone else.”

“For an athlete, there’s no real reason to have to get nude, although I think there’s nothing wrong with ESPN. I don’t think what Ronda did was wrong. I’m just saying it’s not okay to talk crap about the ring girls and then get 1 percent less naked, and say it’s okay. To me it kind of falls in that hypocrisy.”

However, now just a year later, it appears Tate may be biting her words as she is appearing in the 2013 issue of the magazine nude herself.

“One of the biggest common misperceptions about women’s mixed martial arts is that we’re not feminine,” Tate told the NY Daily News about her decision to strip down. “So for me, it’s important to show that women in this sport are comfortable about their bodies, that we’re pretty and carry ourselves as women — and we can also turn it up a notch in the cage.”
