The Pittsburgh Pirates placed second baseman Neil Walker on the 15-day disabled list with soreness in his right side, and recalled infielder Josh Harrison from Triple-A Indianapolis.

Walker, whose move was retroactive to July 7, was hitting .244 with six homers, 11 doubles and 26 RBI in 72 games.

Harrison had a .317 average with 29 doubles, five triples, four home runs, 34 RBI, 50 runs scored and 19 stolen bases in 64 games with Indianapolis.

This is his fifth recall to the Bucs already in 2013, having gone just 2- for-13 with one RBI in four previous stints.
