The Florida Panthers have signed defenseman Matt Gilroy and center Jon Matsumoto to one-year, two-way contracts.

Gilroy has appeared in 209 NHL games for the New York Rangers, Tampa Bay Lightning and Ottawa Senators over parts of four seasons. He has 10 goals and 36 assists for 46 points.

The 28-year-old New York native broke in with the Rangers in 2009-10 and also played the following season with the Blueshirts before splitting the 2011-12 campaign with Tampa Bay and Ottawa. He returned to New York last season and played 15 games for the Rangers while also taking part in 34 games for the team's AHL affiliate in Connecticut.

Matsumoto has spent the bulk of his career at the AHL level and has played 14 NHL games, including one with Florida during the 2011-12 campaign. His other 13 games of NHL action came with Carolina during the 2010-11 season.

The 26-year-old Ottawa native has two goals in his limited NHL experience, but has 139 goals and 314 points in seven AHL seasons.
