Borussia Dortmund have signed Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk, the club confirmed on Monday.

The 24-year-old will move to Signal Iduna Park on a four-year contract, but exact terms of the deal are yet to be finalized.

Mkhitaryan, a 39-time Armenia international, finished as the top scorer in the Ukrainian Premier League last season, posting 25 goals as he helped Shakhtar claim the league title.

Mkhitaryan also featured in Shakhtar's UEFA Champions League round-of-16 fixtures against Dortmund last season, with the German side winning through and going on to reach the final, where they were beaten by Bayern Munich.

Mkhitaryan becomes the club's third signing of the summer, joining Sokratis Papastathopoulos' arrival from Werder Bremen and the signing of forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from St Etienne.
